Are “Shiloh Shepherds” available in Ireland?

Q

When we were looking for a long haired German Shepherd online, we came across a new breed called “Shiloh Shepherds” which we like. Are they available in Ireland?

A

Shiloh Shepherds were invented as a new breed of dog in the 1970’s by an American German Shepherd breeder, but the breed has not become available on a world wide basis, and I don’t think they are specifically available in Ireland. Instead, look into a standard long haired German Shepherd from a breeder who has done all the recommended health tests, including hip and elbow x-rays to reduce the risk of arthritis.
