How can I prevent my dogs vomiting caused by pancreatitis?
Q
My six year old Cavalier had a severe bout of vomiting which the vet told me was caused by pancreatitis. How can I make sure this doesn’t happen again?
A
Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas which often happens in slightly overweight dogs, after eating a high fat diet. So you should aim to keep her as lean as possible (ask your vet for advice on this) and try to keep her on a low fat diet from now on. No high fat treats like bacon rind or chicken skin!
