Why does my cat have a kink in its tail?

Q

My cat has a kink on his tail, near the end. It doesn’t bother him but it feels strange. Should I worry about it?

A

Some cats are born with a kink in their tail, and other cats suffer a broken tail which can heal in a crooked position, creating a kink. As long as the crooked tail is not painful or sore-looking at all, there’s no need to take any action. It just means that his tail is crooked rather than straight and he won’t even be aware of it.
